Pratham began working in the state of Madhya Pradesh in 2004 and operates a number of programmes covering areas from primary education to skill development for youth. Some key programmes are:
Read India is active in primary and upper primary schools in 8 blocks across 2 districts.
The Second Chance programme is present at 3 locations across Indore, Jabalpur, and Bhopal reaching over 300 drop-out students annually.
Under Pratham's Vocational Training programme, PACE hospitality training centres are operational in Bhopal and Khajuraho, and automotive training courses are being conducted in Sagar and Singroli. There are also 3 multi-skilling centres in Gwalior, Indore and Jabalpur.
Government Tie Ups
In 2014, Pratham collaborated with the Rajya Shiksha Kendra of the Madhya Pradesh Department of Education to improve learning levels of Std. 1 & 2 students and Std. 3-5 students who were lagging behind in math, reading, writing, comprehension and English. Government Cluster Resource Persons and teachers were trained and monitored by Pratham.
