A Pratham team of 30 Pratham persons, comprising of
representatives from almost all states called on the Prime
Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, on the evening of April 12th,
2007, at his residence. Mr. Prithviraj Chavan, Minister of
State at the PMO was also present at the meeting. The main
purpose of the meeting was to inform the PM about the Read
India campaign, and what we are doing in different states.
The PM listened to the members of contingent with keen
interest, and asked several questions. He recalled how
dedicated his own teachers were – despite the fact that it
was a rather poor school. Dr. Manmohan Singh wished the
Pratham team all success with the Read India campaign.
