Douglas B. Marshall Jr. Family Foundation grant for Read India

The Douglas B. Marshall Jr. Family Foundation (DBMJFF) – a U.S. based Foundation that supports education in the developing world – has announced a grant of US$300,000 to support the Read India programme in ten districts of Orissa.  The DBMJFF has been supporting Pratham’s work for the last 2 years.

Mr. Douglas B. Marshall III, a Director of the Foundation, visited Mumbai recently to review the progress of Read India, held extensive discussions with Ms. Usha Rane, Director in charge of the programme in Orissa, and Mr. Ujwal Thakar, CEO of Pratham India Education Initiative.  He expressed his happiness on the huge impact that the “Read India” project was making in bringing equity to underprivileged children in India, and complimented Pratham on the efficient use of funds.

The website of DBMJFF can be found at www.dbmjr.org.
