Pratham began working in the state of Jharkhand in 2007 and today has multiple programmes operating in the state:
 
Read India is active in 3 blocks across 3 districts.
   
A PACE Hospitality Training Centre has been set up in Kolabera under Pratham's Pratham's Vocational Training programme.
   
Digital Classrooms are currently active in 100 schools.
   
Special Programmes

Tata Steel supports Read West Singhbhum district project in Jharkhand. The program seeks to impact the learning level of primary government schools and development of appropriate content to ease the transition from home language (multiple tribal languages) to school language (Hindi).

Government Tie Ups

In 2013, Pratham partnered with 4 district administrations across the state and UNICEF to implement a learning improvement programmes for children in Std. 3-5 in government schools. In the Simdega district, in addition to the program for Std. 3-5, a special pilot was conducted to improve English learning levels in upper-primary grades in 50 government schools.

In 2015-16, Std. 3-5 and Std. 6-8 programme is being scaled up to 3 other blocks of Simdega district with UNICEF’s support. Additionally, Pratham Institute will set up vocational training centre with the help of Simdega district to provide employability skills to underprivileged youth in industry specific courses.
