Pratham began working in the state of Uttarakhand in 2006. Some key programmes are:
Read India is active in 13 blocks across 13 districts.
Pratham Council for Vulnerable Children interventions are currently active in Agastyamuni and Ukhimath, areas affected by the Kedarnath tragedy in 2013.
A training was conducted on "Right to Education" for Principals of Cantonment Board Schools in Central Commands.
Digital Classrooms programme is operational in Uttarakhand in 75 schools.
Pratham Supported Schools: Math learning camps and Science workshops and fairs are conducted with children of Upper primary grades in all 13 Read India locations.


Special Programmes

Learning Enhancement Program in Rudraprayag: Learning intervention with children in selected Government Schools in Agastyamuni and Ukhimath blocks of Rudraprayag district: An initiative- to be implemented by Pratham Education Foundation with support from United Way of India.
ITC Ltd. funds a special project called 'Read India Plus' that focuses on improving learning levels of children in pre-school till Std. 8. The programme is currently operational near the factory location in Haridwar.
