Pratham was founded in 1995, to provide preschool education to children in the slums of Mumbai. Over the last 30 years, Pratham has grown to be one of India’s largest NGOs working to provide quality education to underprivileged youth and children in over 25 states and union territories across the country, with a range of interventions.

About Team
Monitoring, Measurement, and Evaluation Team (‘MME’) was established in 2013, as an integral unit of the Pratham (www.pratham.org), with the primary objective of developing systems and strategies to undertake measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of the development sector projects. The MME team was initially involved in the flagship program of Pratham – “Read India” but has now slowly delved into other large Pratham programs, too, in 25 states like Hamara Gaon, Government Partnerships, Early Childhood Education programs, ITC, BPCL, L&T – Talasari, Urban and Second Chance and some others. The skill sets required in the Government Partnership program differ slightly from those of other programs at Pratham Education Foundation.
We are looking for professionals with a strong attention to detail, good analytical and communication skills, and someone who can work collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders.
Position Summary
The primary set of roles and responsibilities of an MME state Associate have been detailed out below:
- Create the ‘Right Data’ Collection, Data Management & Feedback systems with the help of the Central team.
- Design and implement comprehensive monitoring and evaluation frameworks aligned with program goals and objectives.
- Train the Government department personnels and field team on Content, Assessment tools, formats, as well as data collection tools.
- Conduct field visits to monitor the program implementation process and to support the field team in monitoring and implementation of the program.
- Provide proactive real-time feedback and report to the field team on various program and data collection processes based on regular monitoring of processes of the program.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry, data collection, and verification.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data to assess the impact and efficiency of government partnership initiatives.
- Derive insights from the data and disseminate the same .
- Create presentations and disseminate the data to government officials at block/ district/ state levels.
- Support the State team in building the capacity of the field team.
- Prepare the documentation on the program.
- Communicate findings clearly and concisely, tailoring reports to different audiences.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
While a State Associate will undergo multiple rounds of capacity-building exercises at the Pratham and MME, the candidates must have the educational qualifications and skills mentioned below:
- Bachelor’s Degree in any relevant discipline (but any outstanding candidate who does not have adequate qualifications can also be considered).
- At least 2 years of field experience in Pratham or ASER (but any fresher having adequate knowledge and skill can also be considered).
- Comfortable with MS Office- Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; especially MS – Excel.
- Comfortable with other data analysis tools
- Good articulation and communication skills, both written and oral – English and Hindi/Regional. Command over the regional language will be beneficial.
- Should be willing to take the initiative and drive the program forward.
- Ability to share qualitative feedback.
- Good planning and time management skills
- Willingness to travel to different locations.
- Willingness to interact with different stakeholders in a program and give feedback to them accordingly.
