About Pratham-Shah PraDigi Innovation Centre

PraDigi Centre is a unit of Pratham which aims at developing technology-enabled learning solutions. PraDigi has produced over 10000 videos and 500 learning games in the last few years. These resources can be viewed on www.prathamopenschool.org

These resources have been deployed and monitored in many rural and urban communities. With each passing year, this repository of content – videos, games, stories, and applications has grown to cater to the interests and engagement of children as well as youth. Translating videos into 14 regional languages helped us become relevant and accessible to learners in all states.

About Learning for Life

Pratham’s curriculum is divided into 3 major domains – Learning for School, Learning for Life and Learning for Work. Started in 2018 with a simple motive to go beyond school curriculum and encourage the innate creativity and curiosity among children in rural India, Learning for Life domain focuses on building 21st century skills, promoting physical and mental wellbeing and creating environmental consciousness among children and youth for a sustainable future.  It is based on a 4Ex framework – Expose, Explore, Experiment and Exchange. This involves creating age appropriate digital learning content, running awareness campaigns in communities and schools, organizing workshops, conducting various courses and activities for children and youth. 

The domain consists of 4 subject verticals – creative arts, environment, health and sports. 

Senior Content Developer : Job Description

The Learning for Life domain is looking for a motivated and energetic individual who believes in a tech-enabled open learning environment to promote the goals of the domain.  

The Senior content developer will work with all the subject verticals in Life domain to support content developers and senior content developers in designing, developing, piloting and implementing a comprehensive learning experience tailored to the needs and interests of children and youth. The ideal candidate will have a background in curriculum development and media/ digital learning content creation experience. They may not be an expert of art, health, environment or sports but must possess the creative ability and aptitude to convert ideas into impactful digital content.  

The person will work closely with the Lead, Learning for Life domain to produce digital learning content for all projects adhering to the timelines and high quality standards.  

The main responsibilities of Senior Content Developer (Life) are as follows:

  1. Design and Development Curriculum Packages 
  • Work with team leads, project managers and other stakeholders to understand program requirements and develop suitable curriculum plans  
  • Research and evaluate available/emerging technologies, tools and activities
  • Collaborate with content developers from all the subject verticals of Life domain – art, health, environment and sports to ideate, design and develop engaging content packages 
  • Test, pilot and modify the curriculum and program to ensure quality, cultural relevance and impact. 
  1. Quality Assurance and Quality Check
  • Review individual content resources and packages  
  • Provide qualitative feedback at every stage of content production to improve resource quality 
  • Work closely with different content developers to create engaging, impactful and creative learning resources 
  • Conduct the final Quality check before disseminating the learning resources  
  1. 3. Digital Content Development 
  • Write high quality video scripts on various themes under Learning for Life 
  • Curate and/or create engaging multimedia content including videos, animations, and interactive elements, WhatsApp messages, nudges, prompts for children, youth volunteers, teachers and Pratham team members etc 
  • Assist the media and/or graphics team on shoots and actual production 
  • Conduct comprehensive training workshops for various stakeholders as per program requirements 
  1. Partnerships and Collaborations:
  • Identify potential partners, subjects experts, production houses for each subject as per program requirements  
  • Establish new collaborations to run online and offline activities, workshops, webinars etc.   
  • Coordinate with different internal and external stakeholders to produce timely resources

Desired Skills and Experience 

Must have:

  • 2 to 3 years of demonstrated experience in digital content creation and/or creative writing 
  • Minimum graduation degree in mass media, mass communication or any of the subjects in Learning for Life 
  • Although subject expertise of arts, health, environment or sports is not mandatory, the aptitude for research, ability to think creatively and contribute to these subjects both qualitatively and quantitatively 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi. Functional knowledge of Marathi would be advantageous
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PPT, Google Suite, Canva and other content creation softwares
  • High quality standards, attention to detail, ability to multitask and learn on the job 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cultural sensitivity and experience working with diverse populations
  • Willingness to travel across rural India as per program requirements 

Advantageous but not mandatory 

  • Content creation experience in any of the Life verticals – arts, health, environment, sports 
  • Work experience in EdTech 
  • Functional knowledge of other Indian languages 
  • Media production experience
