About Early Years Content
Pratham’s intensive work in the field of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) for the past 30 years shows that it is crucial to invest in the development of children. ECCE provides an opportunity for providing a stimulating environment for the child’s holistic development for ages 3-6 in particular. The Early Years Content Team at Pratham focuses on 3-8 year olds and intends to make use of the existing knowledge that children carry and strengthen it to build their foundational skills, particularly in the preschool years and early grades.
Pratham’s work in Early Years includes but is not limited to:
- Curriculum development for 3-8 year olds
- Developing compelling course content and engaging learning materials for teachers and the community
- Building and reinforcing teachers’ capacities via online and offline workshops/training
- Assessing content feasibility, tracking field progress, and documenting program outcomes
Role Description
The Early Years team in Pratham is seeking to hire a Content Associate who can support the creation of educational content for learners aged 3-6 years and its training and on-ground support for effective implementation of the content. We are looking for applicants with some experience in teaching young learners or working in the space of early years. Applicants proficient in creating content using digital tools such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and create educational materials used in Anganwadi centres, pre-primary classes in government/government aided schools, in communities and in Pratham for teaching-learning by evaluating its content, structure, and instructional effectiveness
- Contribute to the development of activities, stories, poems, worksheets, games and other required Teaching-Learning Materials (TLM) related to all developmental domains
- Collaborate with other content developers, trainers, and teachers across various states at Pratham to brainstorm, research, and integrate pedagogical trends and best practices
- Engage with government stakeholders and other organizations as required and support Pratham’s state teams to plan & implement existing projects
- Support with communications efforts to improve the visibility of Pratham’s early years program – events, collaborations, conferences, advocacy, social media etc.
- Contribute to the development of high-quality training material to train educators teaching in low-resource settings, ensuring alignment with our learning outcomes and standards
- Build capacities of teams across central and field locations through training
- Support relevant data collection to improve the design and implementation of projects
- Support documentation of early years programs for internal & external stakeholders
- Perform additional tasks, as required, by the management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in a relevant field
- 1-2 years of work experience in the education sector
- Understanding of Early Years and its related concepts for the 3-6 years age group
- Attention to detail and some experience in research will be preferred
- Proficiency in English and Hindi language, with excellent listening, comprehension, reading and writing skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with teams
- Adaptable and able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Passionate about promoting social change through education
- Openness to travel is important
Location
The position will be based in New Delhi but will require travel on a regular basis through the year
