About Pratham Digital
Pratham Digital has produced over 10000 videos and 500 learning games in the last few years. These resources can be viewed on www.prathamopenschool.org
These resources have been deployed and monitored in many rural and urban communities. With each passing year, this repository of content – videos, games, stories, and applications has grown to cater to the interests and engagement of children.
Translating videos into 14 regional languages helped us become relevant and accessible to learners in all states. Moving forward we are planning to create a mass dissemination mechanism where youth and children will get exposure to improve their creativity, collaboration, curiosity and critical thinking. In this effort to make engaging content reach learners across India, Pratham has been actively collaborating with youth-driven start-ups, content creators and interest groups.
About Learning for Life
Pratham’s curriculum is divided into 3 major domains – Learning for School, Learning for Life and Learning for Work. Started in 2018 with a simple motive to go beyond school curriculum and encourage the innate creativity and curiosity among children in rural India, Learning for Life is a fast growing curriculum domain. It focuses on building 21st century skills, promoting physical and mental wellbeing and creating environmental consciousness among children and youth for a sustainable future. It is based on a 4Ex framework – Expose, Explore, Experiment and Exchange. This involves creating age appropriate digital content, running awareness campaigns in the community, organizing workshops, conducting various courses and activities with children and youth.
Agricultural Education
Pratham's Agricultural Initiative, designed to empower farmers, is dedicated to fostering environmentally sustainable farming practices and ensuring access to nutritious produce. Over the past three years, Pratham has established agricultural training hubs in ten strategic locations across India, focusing on pillars such as biodiversity conservation, agroforestry, seed preservation, sustainable water management, and chemical-free cultivation. Through innovative programs like food forest workshops and organic grower courses, farmers are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to embrace diversified cropping techniques and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities in organic farming. Moreover, the School Kitchen Garden Program cultivates environmental consciousness among students, while Pratham's Women Farmers' Clubs champion gender equality and combat malnutrition by empowering female farmers with training in kitchen gardening and agroforestry, fostering both nutritional security and economic empowerment.
