About Remote Second Chance Program

Pratham’s Remote Second Chance Program is an initiative which mainly focuses on reaching out to girls and women who aspire to complete their 10th and has access to smartphone and internet facility. It is an intensive technology-based remote intervention model and aim is to reach dropouts in rural areas of India. It provides learners with an opportunity to attend classes at flexible timings and watch recorded lectures and prepare for board exams. They are also responsible for managing the records, doing data entry and reporting on weekly progress in teaching-learning process developments.

Role & Responsibility

  • Responsible for mobilization of the virtual learners for the Remote program by collaborating with different programs at the state level to leverage existing networks in the community. This will involve spreading awareness of the program offline and digitally, enrolling the students on the technological platform (LMS), facilitating the overall teaching-learning process.
  • Responsible for leading the pilots involved in the testing of LMS : for features, for content and for understanding the trends.
  • Will be required to closely observe and monitor the functions of app to ensure its alignment to program goals. Documenting and reporting challenges and trying out solutions, proactively, will be an expectation from this position.
  • They will set digital classes on platforms like SCP LMS app, Zoom and Google Meet by conducting classes for atleast 2 subjects, for the virtual learners in the state. Will also be facilitating for the other subjects with the help of SCP- SCTAs.
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance proficiency in online teaching methods and extend facilitation (at individual level, group level and with the mode of technology / face to face as needed) beyond traditional classroom settings.
  • Regular visits in the field to understand the learning environment, learning levels of the learners, identify areas for support learners and plan/design/develop/enhance future sessions accordingly. Home visits are done to support and counsel students/their family members/community.
  • Conducting virtual classes, managing enrollment and data entries, and conducting virtual meetings with the learners’ families.
  • Responsibilities also include content development, designing webinars, and creating multimedia support. Simultaneously, ensure effective delivery of content through the digital platform.
  • Managing digital resources and video recordings utilized in classes, Coordinators are also responsible for timely editing and sharing these recordings with learners. Additionally, Coordinators are required to consistently upload subject-specific content on the SCP LMS app.
  • Creating and sustaining a conducive learning environment for virtual learners and ensuring close follow-ups on the progression in learning levels and identifying gaps.
  • Participate in regular meetings with central and state program teams, SCTAs, and CCTAs. Adhere to feedback and implement suggested measures for course corrections.
  • Tracking daily attendance and systematic documentation of the remote teaching-learning process.
  • Monthly interaction with students to assess support needs and progress. Providing technology-based support, including the use of existing digital tools used in the program.
  • Constantly, exploring and implementing new technological approaches and sharing viable processes with the team.
  • Other program related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Remote Coordinator will need to be proactive as this is a new area of work which require a lot of exploration and innovation.
  • Should be good with technology and should have interest in learning new education technology like MS Office, Canvas, Apps like zoom, meet, google classroom to facilitate online classroom.
  • Minimum 1 year of working experience with elder age group 14+ years.
  • Knowledge of grade 10 curriculum and board exam processes will be an advantage
  • Good communication skills, readiness to work collaboratively and as a team player
  • Should be open to learning
