About the Early Years

Pratham Early Years team has decades of experience working with community partners and state governments to develop and deliver solutions targeting holistic development of children of age group 3 to 8 (i.e., children across preschool and grades 1-2). In the past few years, Pratham has also started working in the birth to 3 age group. Solutions include designing curriculum and material, training government and community resource groups, supporting on-site monitoring, providing measurement support and, most importantly, assisting state governments with evidence-based decision making for policy and practices. A key aspect of Pratham early years programs is mother and community engagement, which is done through the formation of mothers’ groups and weekly engagement with them thereafter, periodic school readiness melas, and upskilling for community volunteers.


Program: 0 to 3 Years Palan Poshan Program
Location:  Bhopal & Sheopur (M.P)
Reporting To: Program Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Content & Training Associate will be responsible for developing high-quality training materials and content for the 0 to 3 Years Palan Poshan Program. This role involves designing educational resources, facilitating training sessions, and ensuring that program staff and local stakeholders are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to implement the program effectively. The Content & Training Associate will work closely with various units to promote best practices in early childhood development.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Content Development:

    • Design and create training materials, including manuals, handouts, presentations, and digital resources tailored to the needs of the program.

    • Develop engaging and interactive educational content that aligns with the objectives of the program.

    • Make field visits (approx. 12-13 days) in a month to field observation helpful for content development.

    • Demonstrates content related activities to the program teams & stakeholders during visits to enhance their understanding of the content.

    • Lead the content related pilots at field level to enhance individual & team’s understanding.

  2. Training Facilitation:

    • Plan, organize, and conduct training sessions for program teams including Team Leaders, ECD Mentors/Block Coordinators, and other stakeholders at the state/district/block levels for program team & government officials.

    • Facilitate workshops and learning sessions that enhance participants’ understanding of early childhood development concepts and program implementation strategies.

    • Assess the effectiveness of training sessions and make necessary adjustments to improve delivery and outcomes.

  3. Capacity Building:

    • Support the development of a robust training strategy that addresses the learning needs of program staff and local partners.

    • Provide ongoing mentorship and support to participants to reinforce learning and encourage the application of skills in the field.

    • Collaborate with the MME Associate to integrate monitoring and evaluation tools into training programs to assess knowledge retention and application.

  4. Collaboration and Coordination:

    • Work closely with district teams to identify training needs and develop targeted content to address those needs.

    • Coordinate with local government officials, NGOs, and community organizations to ensure alignment of training efforts with local policies and practices.

    • Foster partnerships with educational institutions and experts to enhance the quality of training programs.

  5. Resource Management:

    • Maintain an organized repository of training materials, resources, and best practices for easy access by program staff.

    • Ensure that training resources are updated regularly to reflect new research, methodologies, and program changes.

  6. Feedback and Continuous Improvement:
    • Visit the stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of content and delivery methods.

    • Analyze and recommend improvements to content of the program based on feedback and program evaluation findings.

    • Stay informed about the latest developments in early childhood education and integrate innovative approaches into the content.

Qualifications and essentials:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.

  • Minimum of 01 years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, and data management in development programs.

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
