About Pratham
Pratham Education Foundation (Pratham) is one of the largest education NGOs in India with a record of innovative, rigorously evaluated programs that have inspired similar programs across three continents. With a history spanning 30 years, Pratham’s work today extends from programs for early and elementary years to girls and women, and youth skilling. Through programs covering 25 states and Union Territories, in an average year, Pratham usually reaches over 6 million children and youth. This is achieved through a combination of efforts: directly working with children and youth in communities, as well as through collaborations with state and district-level governments.

Role Overview
The Manager / Sr. Manager – Strategic Communications & Partnerships will support the Head of Communications in advancing Pratham’s external visibility, institutional positioning, and partnership strategy.
This role focuses on strengthening brand presence, enabling strategic collaborations, shaping leadership visibility, supporting fundraising communications, and driving influencer and volunteering engagement. The role will work closely with the communications and the program management team to ensure that Pratham’s work is communicated with clarity, credibility, and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Communications & Positioning
- Contribute to shaping and refining Pratham’s external narrative across programs and thematic priorities.
- Assist in preparing leadership communication including keynote narratives, talking points, and opinion pieces.
- Ensure alignment between program-level communication and organisational positioning.
- External Collaborations & Brand Partnerships
- Identify and support development of co-branded opportunities with partners, brands, donors, and ecosystem stakeholders.
- Explore strategic collaborations beyond donors to enhance brand/ program visibility and credibility.
- Develop and execute influencer engagement strategies aligned with campaigns and organisational needs.
- Support communication strategy around volunteering opportunities to create meaningful engagement pathways for the organisation.
- Media, Visibility & Thought Leadership
- Identify speaking engagements, conferences, and sector platforms to build visibility for Pratham and its leadership.
- Support media outreach and relationship building to strengthen coverage.
- Contribute to development of flagship external communication assets including reports, campaigns, and major announcements.
- Fundraising & Donor Communications
- Support fundraising campaigns through messaging strategy and storytelling assets.
- Strengthen donor communication journeys across touchpoints with consistent and impact-driven narratives.
- Translate program insights into compelling stories that support fundraising.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Program Comms to elevate program outputs into strategic narratives.
- Coordinate with Visual Media and Design for high-quality, brand-aligned outputs.
- Ensure coherence in voice, messaging, and storytelling across platforms.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in strategic communications, partnerships, brand communications.
- Experience in external collaborations, media engagement, influencer strategy, or/and brand partnerships.
- Strong writing skills with ability to translate complex programmatic work into compelling narratives.
- Experience supporting fundraising or donor communications is preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the communications team.
- Working knowledge of digital communication and campaign tools (e.g., Mailchimp or similar email marketing platforms, UTM tracking and campaign performance dashboards) will be an advantage.
An Ideal Candidate will:
- Excellent spoken and written English language skills. Fluent in Hindi speaking and reading – fluency in additional Indian languages is desirable.
- We believe a key component of communicating about Pratham’s work is forming a direct connection with our programs through on-ground visits. An ideal candidate would be willing and able to travel frequently across the country to visit our local programs.
- Possess a sense of urgency and be results oriented.
