About the Role

The Government Partnership’s Program Coordinator will support the implementation of Pratham’s Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) program for Grades 4 and 5 in partnership with the Government of Uttar Pradesh under the NIPUN Bharat Mission.

The role involves coordinating program activities for state and field teams, supporting government in the execution of teacher training and govt mentoring, facilitating monitoring systems, and ensuring effective on-ground execution across all districts.

The position requires close collaboration with government stakeholders, Pratham state, divisional and district teams, and academic resource groups to strengthen classroom practices and improve student learning outcomes at scale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Implementation & Coordination

  • Support the development, review, rollout and effective implementation of the Teacher Guide (Sandarshika) across districts.
  • Coordinate with state, district and block-level stakeholders (BSAs, DIETs, SRGs, ARPs) for smooth program execution.
  • Ensure adherence to program timelines, academic calendar, and implementation plans.
  • Represent Pratham UP GP on various external and internal platforms.

2. Content Development and Training & Capacity Building

  • Support planning and execution of training of Pratham state and district teams.
  • Support planning and execution of state, district, and block-level teacher trainings.
  • Coordinate Training of Trainers (ToT) and cascade training processes.
  • Assist in the development and revision of training materials and manuals.
  • Work closely with State Content & Training Associates (SCTAs) in the development and execution of any teaching-learning content pertaining to the program
  • Assist the core team in the development of the new Teacher Guide aligned with upcoming curriculum changes.
  • Support field piloting of new content and approaches.

3. Monitoring & Mentoring Support

  • Supervise, mentor, and support Pratham field staff to ensure clarity on program goals, methodologies and targets. 
  • Monitor on-ground activities to ensure adherence to program objectives and timelines.
  • Conduct regular field visits to review progress, identify challenges, and recommend corrective.
  • Participate in school visits to observe classroom practices and provide feedback.
  • Support the development and implementation of monitoring frameworks and tools.
  • Coordinate and track monitoring visits.

4. Data Collection, Analysis & Reporting

  • Oversee the collection of sample-based data from field visits and assessments.
  • Work closely with State MME in the development and execution of any measurement frameworks pertaining to the program.
  • Support data analysis to generate actionable insights for program improvement.
  • Prepare periodic reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations.

5. Assessment Support, Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Coordinate with government on statewide assessments.
  • Assist in the dissemination of assessment findings.
  • Liaise with government officials at state and district level.
  • Participate in review meetings (district, and state-level).
  • Support documentation and dissemination of key learnings and directives.
  • Facilitate communication between Pratham teams and government counterparts.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in education programs, preferably in FLN or government partnerships.
  • Experience in teacher training, field implementation, or program coordination is preferred.

  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and work collaboratively with government departments, schools, and community stakeholders. 
  • Good understanding of school education systems and FLN initiatives.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills (Excel, basic MIS tools).
  • Strong communication and writing skills in English and Hindi.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work in field settings.

  • Willingness to travel frequently across districts.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.

Reporting: This position will report to the State Head.
