Farida has worked extensively on inclusive education and is a member of government-formed committees such as the National Education Policy, Sachar Committee, Child Labour Eradication Advisory Committee. At present, in Pratham, she leads people-related initiatives, mental well-being, capacity building, and routine people-related matters, and is the Chairperson of the Apex Committee for the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at the workplace. She also serves on the boards of several Corporate Social Responsibility and Non-Government Organisations.
Her efforts have been acknowledged through numerous awards, including the Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Award presented by the Maharashtra Government, the Changemaker Award by Hindustan Times, the Sahyadri Navratna Award by Doordarshan Kendra, Mumbai, the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development 2021, and most recently, the FICCI FLO Trailblazer Women Achievers Award 2023.
